Calamity Studio is a small but extremely capable production facility in Kuala Lumpur created and used by Paul Russell for his audio visual creative and corporate work. From here we can produce highly polished corporate and travel photography, and corporate videos of better than broadcast quality, in fact right up to the latest 2D cinema quality.
We shoot on location using the Red Epic camera, offer steadicam and timelapse facilities, and specialise in corporate, underwater, aerial and documentary work. Our work has taken us all over Asia in the past couple of years, working for major corporate clients such as Standard Chartered Bank, Caltex and Air Mauritius.

| Penang, on the North West coast of Peninsula Malaysia, has many interesting buddhist Temples and Khongsis (Clan Houses). Over the Christmas 2011 period we spent some time taking our Red Epic camera to some of the most interesting of them.Yes, those are real snakes, Waglers Pit Vipers. And yes, they are poisonous.

| I was in Singapore in August 2011 and found myself at a loose end, so I filmed my friend Heather Anderson creating one of her unique Mantra works of art. This process normally takes around 4 hours, but you can watch live creativity right here, right now at super speed.
The film was shot using a Canon EOS 5 D MKII and edited in Premiere CS5. I wrote and produced the music in Sonar X1c at the KL Calamity Studio facility.
