A Professional Creative Team

Making music and sound with worldwide resources

Paul RussellCalamity Studio is the AV production arm of Paul Russell's marketing consultancy, Pi2. Paul is an international corporate location photographer who doesn't restrict his creativity to one style of output.

We are based in Singapore, but we bring to the table a virtual team from all over the world. Our clients are as far afield as India, England, Singapore and even New Zealand. All made possible through extensive use of the Internet.

With an impressive base of worldwide talent contacts, Calamity Studio can create original, hi quality music and soundtracks. We can bring in songwriters from USA and Australia, classical or jazz musicians from England and the USA, and voice-over artists from all over the world.

The Otherplace Wrecking Crew

The Otherplace Wrecking Crew is a team of incredible musicians and singers from all over the world who come together via The Otherplace forum to collaborate over the internet on different musical projects. It's a loose affiliation that drifts in and out, but the core members are

Paul Russell (Singapore): producer, bass, drum programming, mixing
Mark Morris: Guitar, some keyboards
Ed McGlaughlin: Bass, some guitar, occasional sax

Frequent contributors are:=
Brian Walker: Trumpet
Dan Sillet: keyboards
Dave Modisette: Bass
Donny Thompson: Vocals

The crew is often augmented upon invitation. No one ever refuses.

Toether we've been making great music for about two years. The name came from a suggestion by Nate West, drawing a comparison between us and the original Wrecking Crew, a team of LA session musicians from the 60's. It's flattering, we know, but our egos can't resist it.Smile

The amazing Valley People Dynamite from Softube is now part of our armoury. It's a fabulous little dynamics box that we've been using on the Stu Smith project to give the drums that extra 'snap'.

We're currently trialing Stilwell's Bombardier, but haven't had much chance to give it an overhaul yet.

Soundtoys Native 4 (yes I know, I'm weak), even thought its performance in Sonar 8.5.3x64 is ass and the developers have no intention of fixing it.
