Calamity Studio is primarily an 'in the box' studio. We mix using 64 bit precision SONAR 8.5.3, higher than that supported by ProTools, at any resolution up to 32bit 96KHZ.

Video

We shoot using the Canon EOS5D MKII. However, we have easy access to any broadcast or film quality equipment up to the Big Red. Main edit application is Vegas 9a x64, with Sony's DVD Architect for finalising. We plan to move over to Adobe Premiere CS5 as our primary edit platform shortly.

Vegas Fx plugins include:
Boris Red
Boris Graffitti
Boris FX
NuBlue Art FX
Nublue Motion FX
Nu Blue Video Essentials 1-3VASST Celluloid and Reelpaks
Cinemantiq Hi Def Visual ProcessingAudio

DAW

DualXeon workstation (that's eight core processors), 16GB Ram, 6TB RAID storage in the box with hot swappable SATA2 drives for every client. This unit is capable of handling up to 120 or more tracks of audio, with more than 40 compressors, 10 impulse reverbs and several delays simultaneously. We know, we tried it.

The amazing Valley People Dynamite from Softube is now part of our armoury. It's a fabulous little dynamics box that we've been using on the Stu Smith project to give the drums that extra 'snap'.

We're currently trialing Stilwell's Bombardier, but haven't had much chance to give it an overhaul yet.

Soundtoys Native 4 (yes I know, I'm weak), even thought its performance in Sonar 8.5.3x64 is ass and the developers have no intention of fixing it.
