Some of the footage we shot in October 2012. Various views of New York, from helicopters, boats, cars and even a static shot here and there. Post produced in our in-house facility in Kuala Lumpur using Resolve, Premiere and After Effects.
First Showreel of 2013
Allow us to present our latest showreel, a lot of which was shot in the USA during the latter half of 2013. Locations include Truk Lagoon, which is in the middle of the Pacific, Kota Kinabalu, New York, Chicago, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and lots of other interesting and scenic places.
Multinational Underwater Production
Earlier in 2012 I got played the part of camera owner/operator on this nice commercial for Maruti cars, the Indian subsidiary of Suzuki. It was a very international production, shot in Sabah, with Biscuit Films of KL leading the local side, Equinox Films of Mumbai, India bringing the Director, DOP and a large crew. Lots of fun and a very nice product at the end of the day.
Musician, Inventor, Craftsman: Gene Parsons
So we kick off the new year with a delightful portrait that Paul put together while picking up a new guitar, converted with a Stringbender by the gentleman who is the subject of this video, Gene Parsons.
Gene has led quite a life, that includes being one of the original drummers of famous rock band The Byrds, along with his own solo career and a lifetime spent bending metal to his will. This portrait was shot in his workshop and home in Mendocino, California. Gene is a lovely guy and we think that the sparkle in his eye comes across.
Bay Wine Works TVC
Travelling up from the West Coast of the USA we arrived in Vancouver, Canada. My friend, Rod, owns a great little store that helps people brew their own wine - and it's very tasty stuff, too. So we spent a little time making a short for him to use on local TV and his own website. Shot with the Red and edited in Premiere over a two day period in August 2012.
Birdbath!
We were in Southern California in July 2012 on an extended trip to meet some old friends and shoot stock photos and video. Here is something that I put together as a result of handholding the RED and shooting some birds in the back garden of our hosts during the first week.
Featured are several 'Anna's Hummingbirds', as well as Finches and a North American Robin. They like to squabble over the territory of the birdbath. This was mostly shot in HD at 200 frames per second, which is how I have been able to ramp up and down from normal to slow motion.
Feeding The Sharks at Chuuk Lagoon
In January 2012 my apprentice camera assistant and I went to Chuuk Lagoon, somewhere halfway between Hawaii and the Philippines. We were there to shoot the WWII wrecks lying in the water there, but took a dive out to go feed some fish. This was lots of fun, as you can see. We shot in 3K at 48fps with the Red Epic in a Gates Deep Epic housing. Focal length 14mm prime throughout. Polished up and finished in Adobe Premiere CS6.
